Let’s talk about your collection
01

Tell Ed what you’ve got.

A box of VHS? A handful of camcorder tapes? Share the format, quantity, and anything you know about their condition.

02

Make a plan together.

Confirm compatibility, price, timing, delivery format, and handoff arrangements before your originals go anywhere.

03

Give your memories a new home.

Receive the agreed digital copies, check playback, and keep a backup. Hold on to your original recordings, too.

Good
questions.

All questions & answers
Which tape formats can I ask about?

VHS, VHS-C, Video8, Hi8, Digital8, MiniDV, and Betamax are good starting points. Availability depends on the exact recording format and condition. Tell Ed what is printed on the tape; unusual, professional, and international formats need confirmation before you send them.

How much does a transfer cost?

Ask Ed for a quote based on the media format, quantity, recorded length where known, condition, and requested output. Pricing and any additional work should be agreed before your project begins.

How long will my project take?

Timing depends on the size of your collection, its condition, and the current workload. If you have a birthday, reunion, or other deadline, mention it when you request a quote and have Ed confirm the schedule.

What will I receive?

Discuss digital file format and delivery with Ed when planning your project. Tell him how you want to watch or share the results so compatibility, storage media, and any copying options can be confirmed.

Will digitizing make the picture HD?

A transfer preserves what can be read from the source; it does not recreate detail that was never recorded. Age, original recording quality, and damage can affect both picture and sound. Ask separately about any restoration or editing you need.
